COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A Richland County judge granted bond for the director of the Richland County Recreation Commission on Saturday.

That judge set the bond for Executive Director James Brown, III at $20,000. Brown posted bond on Saturday and was released. He was ordered to surrender all of his firearms to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. He also is not allowed to have any contact, directly or indirectly, with any Recreation Commission employees or witnesses.

A source close to the situation says Brown has been charged with intimidation of a witness. According to a source, Brown allegedly threatened a Recreation Commission employee.

Brown was indicted Wednesday on one count of misconduct in office.

The indictment alleges that from 2012 to 2015, Brown used his position as Executive Director to coerce and attempt to coerce female employees into having sexual contact with him.
