Coroner identifies man killed in shooting Friday night

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Richland County Coroner has identified the man who was fatally shot at an apartment complex Friday night. 

The coroner identified the victim as 25-year-old Zaire Franklin of Columbia. Autopsy results indicate Franklin died from a gunshot wound to the upper body. 

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department say they responded to a shots fired call just after 10:30 p.m. at the St. Andrews Woods Apartments. 

When deputies got to the scene, Franklin was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A suspect was seen speeding away from the scene of the shooting in a vehicle. No description has been released of that person.
