SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged 28-year-old Justin Leon Jacobs for first-degree sexual assault and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.

According to the arrest warrants Jacobs assaulted a 55-year-old mentally-disabled woman numerous times. Authorities say Jacobs held the woman down and put his hands over her mouth to keep her from screaming for help.

The warrant states the woman repeatedly told Jacobs to stop but he continued to assault her.

Jacobs is currently being held in the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
