Just hours before Tuesday's opening round NIT game against High Point, the University of South Carolina Men's basketball program announced the suspension of five players.

Chris Silva, Marcus Stroman, Jamall Gregory, TeMarcus Blanton, and Eric Cobb have been suspended indefinitely, according to Gamecocks head coach Frank Martin.

“TeMarcus Blanton, Eric Cobb, Jamall Gregory, Chris Silva and Marcus Stroman have been suspended indefinitely from the team due to a conduct issue,” Martin said.

Only one of the five players have started games for South Carolina. Silva and Stroman have played a significant number of minutes off the bench for the Gamecocks.

Silva averaged just over five points in 13 minutes per game. He trailed only Michael Carrera and Laimonas Chatkevicius in blocks with 28 on the year.

Stroman played just under 15 minutes per contest but only provided a little over two points per outing.

South Carolina takes on High Point at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
