RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Richland County domestic dispute is now being referred to as a self-defense case after investigators say a wife shot her husband on Monday evening.
According to Sgt. Brittany Scott of the Richland County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the altercation on Bermuda Hills Road. Once they arrived, deputies learned the husband was shot in the lower body.
Officials also found an infant in the home.
The husband, however, has been arrested and charged with first degree domestic violence in connection with the case. According to the sheriff's department, Bryan Bland, 29, assaulted his wife before she pulled out a gun and shot him.
Bland's injuries are non-life-threatening, according to authorities. Once he finishes treatment for his wound, deputies will book him into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
