WIS is proud to salute three outstanding young men who are best friends.
PV2 Mason Cox, PV2 Austan Day, and PFC Jacob Robertson grew up together in rural Gilbert. They all decided to take the brave journey to serve in the United States Army, choosing Infantry as their military occupational specialty.
They began basic combat training at Fort Benning, Georgia within two weeks of each other, but were in different companies so they only saw each other in chapel a handful of Sundays.
They currently serve in different countries and have not been able to see each other in their hometown since the end of July. These young men have been an inspiration to the entire community, and all of their family and friends have bonded in support of them. Their strength and courage are a testament to our community. We salute them for their willingness to serve with courage, integrity and pride.
We'd like to give you an opportunity to honor the brave men and woman who have served this country. All military servicemen are eligible to be honored, whether currently serving, retired or deceased.
