The University of South Carolina has identified the USCPD officer injured in a crash near campus Saturday night that killed a Columbia Police officer.

Sunday morning, University spokesperson Wes Hickman told WIS Sergeant Allan Bolin was in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital Saturday night after his cruiser crashed into a CPD cruiser at College and Park Streets.

Columbia Police officer Stacy Case was driving the CPD patrol car that was involved in the crash. She was taken to the hospital where she died.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both officers as we wish Sergeant Bolin a rapid recovery and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Officer Case and the Columbia Police Department," said a statement Hickman released Sunday morning. "Her loss is truly a blow to our community."

Both officers were responding to a call at Gervais and Lincoln Streets when the crash occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
