COLUMBIA, SC (WIS/AP) - South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch underwent a blood transfusion procedure, WIS has learned.
Mitch had been hospitalized due to an infection in his hip and was recently released.
Mitch developed an infection from a hip bruise sustained in beating North Carolina on Sept. 3.
South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier said Mitch had internal bleeding in the hip area.
Spurrier said Mitch separated his right, throwing shoulder in the loss to the Wildcats last Saturday and will miss four-to-six weeks.
