COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A South Carolina celebrity will be in Columbia Wednesday to help celebrate the new journalism school at his Alma Mater.
Darius Rucker and former Hootie and the Blowfish band mate Mark Bryan will play a brief show on the Horseshoe at 6 p.m. Wednesday. They were invited by the University to celebrate the grand opening of the new home of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
USC Students, faculty and staff will have a reserved viewing area near the stage.
The event is free and open to the public. The new building for the school will be dedicated at 5 p.m.
Rucker and Bryan are graduates of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at USC.
The performance is expected to last about 30 minutes.
