LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - By day, Sean Clayton is a father who occasionally likes to work out in his home gym.
But by Monday nights, 8:00 p.m. to be exact, Sean is a contestant on American Ninja Warrior.
Sean says his family encouraged him to audition for the show since he participates in obstacle races in his spare time.
"I was like, 'I don't train enough I don't have the upper body strength,'" Clayton said. "I figured, 'I'll submit a video and see what happens.'"
He said submitting that video is one of the best decisions he's ever made. In fact, Sean is one out of the 90 contestants who made it to the national finals.
"When I made it I was shocked. It's definitely harder than it looks," he said.
Stage one of the finals takes place in Las Vegas. The episode aired at 8 p.m. Monday.
