Flash Flood Warning issued for Richland, Lexington Counties until 9:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Flash Flood Warning for portions of two Midlands counties until 9:30 p.m.

The warning affects central Richland Co. and east-central Lexington Co.

Strong thunderstorms dropped large amounts of rain late Thursday afternoon on several areas in the Midlands. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

Some locations expected to experience flooding include: Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Springdale, St. Andrews, Woodfields, Dentsville,. Oak Grove, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Arcadia Lakes, Woodfield, Five Points, Fort Jackson and Seven Oaks.
