COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Columbia Police Department has tracked down a man they believe is responsible for three bank robberies since last Friday.
Officers picked up 61-year-old Kevin Oliver Reese on Wednesday at his home on Deerwood Street.
He has been charged with three counts of entering a bank with intent to steal.
According to police, Reese robbed the First Citizens Bank in the 2600 block Rosewood Drive on April 24. A day later he hit the Wells Fargo Bank in the 6700 block of Garners Ferry Road, according to police. He is accused of robbing the Wells Fargo in the 4800 block of Garners Ferry Road on Tuesday.
A tip helped investigators identify and find him, police said.
While investigators do not believe that Reese showed a weapon during the crimes, he allegedly threatened physical harm if bank tellers didn't comply with his demands for money.
Reese appeared in bond court Thursday where a judge set his surety bond at $250,000. He is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
