More arrests expected in Sumter arson case that injured one

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - A 30-year-old Sumter County man is recovering at a Charleston hospital after he was severely burned in an arson caused after one man allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail in his home.

Sumter police have arrested David Shamar Sims, 26, and charged him with second degree arson and conspiracy.

According to police, more arrests are expected in the incident that happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on Hoyt Street.

The victim, who police say was not the target in this case, is in stable condition.
