COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The future of a Gamecock signee remains up in the air.
Bluffton defensive end Shameik Blackshear will have a bench trial Tuesday at Bluffton Municipal Court.
Blackshear faces a misdemeanor petit larceny charge dating back to February.
Blackshear will plead not guilty to the charge, his attorney, Thomas Taylor said Friday.
Taylor requested a bench trial instead of a jury trial to speed up the process so Blackshear could participate in summer camps on time.
Gamecocks athletics have not publicly commented on the incident.
