COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Close friends and family continue to mourn the loss of a 32-year-old mother of four who died after finishing the Palmetto Half Marathon.

Amanda Peake Glover was rushed by EMS to a nearby hospital. She collapsed after crossing the finish line of Saturday's race. The Richland County Coroner's office has yet to release any official findings on what caused her death.

"It's like a part of me is gone and I don't understand it,” Amanda's childhood friend Nikki Campbell said. “I don't know if I ever will."

"When there's no reason, it's just hard to accept,” Amanda's friend Tonya Edgerton said. “I mean I still walk around and think somebody's going to tell me that this is not true, that it did not happen, because it's not supposed to happen to people like that."

Glover was a property manager for Peake Properties as well as co-owner of Fitness 535 gym in Elgin.

In the hours after her passing, the gym posted the following statement on Facebook:

"Today we lost a friend, a sister, a niece, an aunt, a wife, a mother, and a daughter...but what we lost, The Lord gained for his Kingdom. Please keep Benji and her children and family in your prayers. We don't always understand these things in our small earthly minds, but trust that God is in control. We love you Amanda and can't thank you enough for what you've brought into all of our lives."

According to her obituary, the 32-year-old was also a member at Spears Creek Baptist Church where she was a singer in the choir. She also was a cubbies leader and worked in a nursery.

"She met every goal she ever set for herself," said a family member early Sunday. "That was just how she was. Her ultimate goal was to be a great wife and mother. She surpassed those goals. Not only did she finish, but she finished well! Beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend."

Glover is survived by her husband Benjamin Walker Glover as well as four children -- Hope Micah Glover, Reagan Faith Glover, Caroline Brooke Glover and Walker Jude Glover.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
