LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The Lexington County Coroner has identified the woman who died in a four-vehicle crash in Lexington County.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 321 at Woodtrail Drive in Gaston.

Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly says a pickup truck and two motorcycles were stopped in traffic when a Dodge pickup struck the two motorcycles from behind, causing one of the motorcycles to hit the stopped pickup truck.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher says Dawn Davis Kirkland, 51, of Gaston, was a passenger on one of the motorcycles. She was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. Fisher says Kirkland was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Dodge pickup, 35-year-old Alvin Thomas, has been charged with felony DUI.

The conditions of the other victims involved are not known at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner's Office.

Funeral services for Kirkland will be held on Thursday, March 12 at the Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington Chapel.
