Residents help Sumter deputies find three suspects in chase


Several astute residents in Sumter helped deputies locate three men who led them on a high speed chase just outside of town, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Brandon Ernest Ingram, 29-year-old OBrian Anthony Spann, and 28-year-old Cory Emanuel White on charges of first degree burglary. 

Deputies say they saw the three men speeding in the area around 5:20 p.m. and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the group would not stop until the car they went off road in an attempt to evade deputies. 

Investigators say residents in the area quickly helped deputies locate the group in a residence on the 300 block of Seminole Road. Deputies then set up a perimeter around the home. Minutes later, all three suspects left the home an surrendered without incident. 

The suspects were then taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. 

The incident remains under investigation.
