Puppy Bowl XI Facts

· Animal Planet's PUPPY BOWL XI premieres Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 3-5 PM (ET/PT)

· There are a total of 85 puppies, from 12-21 weeks old, appearing in PUPPY BOWL XI. Fifty five are in the Starting Lineup competing for the famed title of BISSELL MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) with the remaining 30 playing back up. We have 21 kittens in the BISSELL KITTY HALF-TIME SHOW.

· Animal Planet worked with 37 shelters and rescue groups from 20 states, including California, Florida, Nevada, Iowa, South Carolina and Texas, to secure animals for the big day!

· Brand new features for PUPPY BOWL XI include:

Teams (FLUFF vs. RUFF) and a scoreboard to help fans keep live scoring updates during the game

A special appearance by "Katty Furry" during Kitty Halftime

Goat cheerleaders take to the field to root for their favorite players

Online voting at AnimalPlanet.com for this year's MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) on game day

· What it takes to make it all happen:

17 cameras (including GoPros)

1,200 puppy pads

6 lbs of cat food

20 lbs of cat litter

15 lbs of dry dog food

1 case of wet dog food

315 poop bags

200 dog toys

2 cases of water for water bowls on and off the field

50 volunteers

65 puppy escorts (parents)

60 crew members

· A representative from the American Humane Association was on set during play to ensure the safety of all animals participating in PUPPY BOWL XI. A veterinarian was also on set to examine each animal before they took the field.

· @MeepTheBird will return for this year's big game to tweet all the latest updates and puppy drama from inside the stadium on game day.

· As always, fan-favorites including the slow motion cute cam, water bowl cam, kiss cam, online Fantasy Game, and a brand new hamster air show providing an action packed aerial view of the field will return.

· Molasses Hill Farm in New Jersey provided 5 Nigerian Dwarf Goats that will waddle on the sidelines as this year's cheerleaders. They range from 4 – 6 months old.

· Dan Schachner is returning to the field for his fourth year as Puppy Bowl Ref.

· The first PUPPY BOWL premiered on Animal Planet in 2005.

· Last year, more than 13.5 million viewers tuned in to the 10th Anniversary of PUPPY BOWL to cheer on the pups as they ran and tumbled there way all over the field. Even President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, with First Dogs Bo and Sunny, got in the action!
