Deputies: Man tried to cash in stolen lottery ticket

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department is searching for a 27-year-old Leesville man who attempted to defraud the lottery with a stolen ticket.

Authorities say 27-year-old David Gaskins is wanted on a charge of presenting a state lottery game ticket with intent to defraud the lottery.

According to the arrest warrant, Gaskins presented a stolen South Carolina State Lottery ticket to an employee at a Leesville truck stop in hopes of cashing it in for winnings. The ticket, however, was reported stolen during a burglary at a convenience store in West Columbia.

Allard says Gaskins is 5'8" and weighs 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with any information regarding Gaskins' location should call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
