NEW YORK (AP) - Duane Notice scored 15 points and South Carolina picked up its first win over a top-10 team in nearly five years by nearly holding Iowa State without a 3-pointer for the first time in over seven years in a 64-60 victory Saturday at Barclays Center.
Notice also had six rebounds and four assists as the Gamecocks (11-1) shot 46 percent and led most of the way. Sindarius Thornwell and Tyrone Johnson had 13 apiece points for South Carolina, which was able to turn back any Iowa State run and picked up its first win over a top-10 team since knocking off Kentucky on Jan. 26, 2010.
Jameel McKay, playing in his third game for Iowa State after becoming eligible, scored 15 points and Dustin Hogue also had 15. Niang, who came into the game averaging 16.1 points, was held to 10 points.
