Las Vegas real estate investor acquires Columbia Place Mall

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia Place Mall has a new owner.

Moonbeam Capital Investments LLC's affiliate Columbia Place Mall SC LLC, which purchased debt collateralized by the Mall 3 months ago, has now acquired ownership of the Mall itself.

The new owner is looking forward to making it a flourishing family-friendly destination.

"After careful evaluation and research, our leasing, development and marketing experts concluded that we can greatly enhance Columbia Place Mall by implementing some of the strategies we have utilized in turning around other properties," said Steven Maksin, Chief Executive Officer of Moonbeam Capital Investments. "From our experience, this process does not happen overnight. However, the Moonbeam companies are long term holders of their properties. We are committed to the future growth of Columbia Place Mall."

Moonbeam's first step is to develop an in-depth understanding of the needs of the community and current tenants. After that, it will implement a leasing and marketing strategy to ensure that Columbia Place Mall is successful on a long-term basis.

Over the last few years, Moonbeam affiliates have acquired more than 50 properties totaling more than 13 million square feet of gross leasable area, including enclosed malls, shopping centers, office buildings, an apartment building and a hotel.
