COLUMBIA, SC (
) South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier delivered a big blow to the defensive line depth on Sunday when he announced that senior J.T. Surratt was doubtful for Saturday night's game against Auburn.
Surratt pulled a hamstring in the first half of the 41-10 victory over Furman.
"He's probably doubtful to get back this week," Spurrier said. "J.T., one of our senior captains, we'll miss him in there. Hopefully some of the other guys can fill in admirably."
He was the only major injury on the weekend but there are two other players who are new to the list and in doubt for the showdown against the Tigers (5-1, 2-1).
Sophomore Jonathan Walton suffered a mild concussion and Spurrier said, "we'll see how he improves as the week goes along."
On the offensive side, senior Rory Anderson suffered a minor triceps injury. It was to the opposite arm that he injured in the spring that kept him out early in the fall. Spurrier said, "We'll see how he does this week" and that Anderson may be able to practice on Wednesday.
Spurrier also added that Cedrick Cooper and David Johnson are likely to practice in a limited role this week.
