Spurrier: No new bye week injuries

COLUMBIA, SC (TheBigSpur.com) South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier joked during his Sunday teleconference that his team suffered no new injuries over the course of the bye weekend.

"No reports of any car wrecks, or injuries or anything," Spurrier said.

Spurrier admitted that he hadn't spoken to the trainer on Sunday to get a complete injury update but two of his top players are still nursing injuries.

Running back Brandon Wildsbanged injured his knee a little bit against Kentucky and was limited in practice last week.

Sophomore Cody Waldrop, who also has a knee injury, has been out since the Georgia game.

“Brandon should be ready to play,” Spurrier said. “Cody Waldrop is kind of wait-and-see.”

The Gamecocks (3-3, 2-3) take on Furman this Saturday at noon at Williams-Brice Stadium.
