COLUMBIA, SC (TheBigSpur.com) South Carolina defensive end Cedrick Cooper will be out 2-3 weeks, head coach Steve Spurrier said.
"Cedrick Cooper, defensive end, has a pretty good ankle sprain - one of those high ankle sprains that will probably keep him out 2 or 3 weeks," Spurrier said. "Cedrick was giving us some good pass rush and doing some good playing. We're going to miss him a bit in there."
Spurrier said other players have some bumps and sprains.
"Other than that, most of the guys just have some sprains, quad contusions - things of that nature that we should be close to full speed by Wednesday. We have five or six players like that," Spurrier said. "May miss Monday, Tuesday practice. We should be fine for the ball game at Kentucky."
The Gamecocks (3-2, 2-2) will travel to face Kentucky on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.
