LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The Lexington County Coroner's Office will not be releasing the results of the autopsies on the five children who investigators say were killed by their father.

Those results, according to the coroner's office, will instead be handed over to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department since the investigation into the case of Tim Jones, Jr. remains ongoing.

That final report is expected in about four weeks.

The remains of Jones' five children were found abandoned in trash bags last week in a rural area of Alabama.

Jones, meanwhile, was arrested in Mississippi in a traffic stop and was kept in custody until he was extradited back to South Carolina to face five counts of murder in the deaths of his children.

The bodies of the children have not yet been released to Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, where the children's funeral services will be held.

The funeral home has not announced any arrangements yet.
