LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A prayer vigil is set for Monday night to honor the lives of the five Lexington County children who were allegedly killed by their father and dumped in Alabama.
Red Bank Baptist Church will hold the vigil at 8 p.m. in cooperation with Red Bank United Methodist Church and the St. James Lutheran Church.
Red Bank Baptist Assistant Pastor Jimmy Walker says all three congregations have members who may have known the Jones children.
A church in Amory, MS, held a memorial last week for the children.
The bodies of Abigail Elizabeth Jones, 1; Gabriel Jones, 2; Nahtahn Jones, 6; Elias Jones, 7; and Merah Gracie Jones, 8, were found badly decomposed in trash bags in a rural area of Alabama last Tuesday.
The childrens' father, Tim Jones, Jr., has been charged with five counts of murder in connection with their deaths.
