SCDPS: 10 traffic fatalities reported this holiday weekend

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Monday marks the end of what troopers refer to as the 100 Deadly Days of Summer.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day is typically when we see an increase in deadly crashes on highways.

Last Labor Day weekend, Highway patrol reported 13 deadly crashes.

There have been 10 deadly crashes throughout the state so far this weekend.

Troopers are investigating a deadly crash on SC 277 in Richland County that happened early Saturday morning. 

Troopers say the driver of a motorcycle crashed into the back of car.

The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet and died in the crash.

And in Kershaw County, one person died in a crash on Old Georgetown Road around noon Saturday.

Troopers say the driver of an SUV didn't stop at a stop sign, and crashed into a car.

There were five children and a driver in the car. None of them were injured.

The driver of the SUV died in the crash.
