SUMTER, SC (WIS) -

A legally blind man reported missing over the weekend in Sumter has been found.

Leroy Leneau, 61, reportedly left his home to visit a friend according to local relatives. An out-of-town relative last spoke with Leneau at about 8 a.m. on Saturday while he was a friend's home on South Main Street.

Police later determined Leneau was no longer at the friend's home.

Authorities found Leneau in a wooded area near a creek at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tonyia McGirt of the Sumter Police Department says it is unclear how he ended up there and how long he had been there.

While his condition was not immediately available, officers say he was responsive when located.
