SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg County high school will pay tribute to three fallen students before the football season home opener on Friday.

On Wednesday, Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said 14-year-old Chaquantei Qualiq Fowler of Cowpens died after passing out at Broome High School.

Public information coordinator Sherri Horton said the student was transported to Mary Black Hospital, but couldn't be resuscitated by medical staff.

"We offer our deepest prayers and sympathies to this student, his family, and Broome students and faculty," Horton said in a written statement.

Clevenger said the autopsy revealed no indication of foul play and microscopic analysis will have to be performed to give a more definitive cause of death.

He said preliminary indications are that the student's death appears to be a heart-related issue.

Horton said a remembrance and dedication is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22 prior to the start of the Broome/Chesnee game in memory of Fowler, Kylie Gillette, a former student killed this past weekend in Charleston, and Elijah Dixon, a rising ninth-grader, who died over the summer.

Dixon's family said District 3 has been fully supportive during this difficult time.

"We appreciate all the things that District 3 has done. The elementary school where his sisters go, the office, Cowpens Middle School, have just been right here for everything," said Cornelia Hill, Dixon's great-grandmother.

Dixon passed away on June 17th after his family said he was hit by a car while walking.

District officials pushed the start time of the game back to 8 p.m.
