Teens accused of stealing from vehicles parked in garages

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Two Cayce teens have been arrested, accused of stealing items from vehicles parked in garages.

Lexington County Sheriff's deputies arrested 17-year-old Skylar Wolfgang Cary and 19-year-old Alexander Devante Dickey. They are charged with burglary and breaking into a motor vehicle. Cary is charged with grand larceny. A Cayce16-year-old will be charged as an adult on two counts of burglary.

Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty says on August 8th, the teens entered several garages on Cedar Vale Drive and stealing items from vehicles parked inside. McCarty says Cary and Dickey are accused of stealing items from several vehicles parked outside homes on Cedar Vale Drive and Sunny Vista Drive near Lexington. Cary is accused of stealing a vehicle from a home on Cedar Vale Drive.

Two of the vehicle break-ins were captured on surveillance video.

According to the arrest warrant, the vehicle that was stolen was left unlocked, with a spare key kept inside the center console.

On August 13th, investigators received a Crimestoppers tip on the location of the stolen vehicle. McCarty says detectives saw Dickey driving the stolen vehicle later that day and tried to pull him over in West Columbia, but the vehicle was abandoned.  Dickey was later arrested.

A photo of Cary is not available to the public because of his age.The Cayce 16-year-old facing charges has not been identified.
