Police: 4-year-old found in hotel meth lab

A 4-year-old child was found in a hotel room where methamphetamine was being manufactured, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Police say that child was located at the Days Inn on Branch Road on Saturday after investigators were told a child was in a room at the hotel where the drug was being made.

Officers arrived at the hotel and found the child along with needles, drugs, and other drug-related items all within the child's reach.

Police also arrested 30-year-old Crystal McDaniel and 34-year-old Sean Howard. McDaniel is charged with possession, manufacturing methamphetamine, and exposing a child to methamphetamine.

Howard, on the other hand, was charged with lying to officers after he allegedly provided investigators with a fake name.

Police did not say how or if the child was related to McDaniel or Howard.

Both were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await a bond hearing. The child, meanwhile, was evaluated at a local hospital.
