Clemson football suits up in preparation for 2014 season

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pre-season practice for the No. 16 ranked Clemson Tigers football team has begun, and on Wednesday the team will suit up in full pads for the first time this season.

The team is expected to take to the practice field around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday. This will be only the second time since beginning practice this past Friday that the team will see true summer-like temperatures.

After last week's unseasonably cool weather, head Coach Dabo Swinney was quoted as saying this had been the coolest start to the pre-season he's ever experienced in his 25 years of coaching - which is not ideal for team conditioning.

Today's high is expected to reach 90 degrees.

The Tigers have just 24 days to prepare for their season opener, as they'll face off against the No. 12 ranked University of Georgia on Aug. 30 in Athens.

Just two weeks later the Tigers will then head to Tallahassee, FL to take on the defending National Champions on Sept. 20.
