COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Colbert County man out on bond for attempted murder is back behind bars on a domestic violence charge.

Investigators said Robert Armstead pulled a gun on his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill her outside her Tuscumbia home.

Police said when the woman tried to call 911, Armstead knocked the phone out of her hand. They said someone walked up, which scared Armstead, causing him to run off.

Armstead was out on bond from an incident that happened in Cherokee back in February.

Authorities charged him with attempted murder after they said he drove by a home on Church Loop Road and fired shoots at a man inside. No one was hurt in that incident.

US Marshals arrested Armstead on Saturday. He's being held without bond at the Colbert County Jail.
