CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

After 36 hours, the biggest problem with the new flyover bridge from Johnston Road to Interstate 485 has been fixed.

The ramp was officially opened by NC DOT officials on Thursday morning before the morning commute, but drivers quickly noticed the sign going north on Johnston Road had a typo.

The town of Pineville was spelled wrong.

The sign should have said "Pineville" but it said "Pinevllie."

After the media caught ahold of the spelling mistake, the sign was quickly fixed. By Friday afternoon, the sign had the spelling corrected.

The new addition should save drivers from having to wait at a traffic light to make a left turn onto the 485 inner loop.

The light would often result in two to three miles of backed-up traffic in the Ballantyne area.
