Colonial Heights officers seek felony warrant following police pursuit

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) -

A man who eluded police capture now has a felony warrant out for his arrest, charged with leading officers on a chase near the Southpark Mall Wednesday.

Police broke away from the pursuit and the man escaped, as officers decided that lives could be put at risk if the pursuit continued.

The man was last seen driving towards Interstate 95 North.

The suspect has been identified, and is now linked to several larcenies from cars around the Mall before the chase unfolded.

The vehicle is described as a black four-door Pontiac with New Orleans Saints stickers on the exterior. Police said the driver is a white male, now wanted for Felony Eluding.

Anyone with information on this case can call Colonial Heights Police at (804) 520-9300 or call anonymously to Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers at (804) 748-0660.
