Police search for driver wanted for injuring man with vehicle

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia police are searching for a driver whom they say hit a man with a car during an argument in a convenience store parking lot Thursday night. Surveillance photos of the vehicle the man was driving were released.

Police say two men were arguing in the parking lot of a business in the 2400 block of Millwood Avenue. One of the men was sitting in a car. After the argument, police say the victim walked toward the car. Witnesses told police the car drove toward the man, hit him and drove away.

The victim was taken to the hospital with what police described as "serious" injuries.

The driver is wanted for leaving the scene. The vehicle is described as a light-colored Mitsubishi Diamante or Galant with damage to the hood. Police say the vehicle is missing a hubcaps on the front driver side and back passenger side.
