Bond has been set for the 19-year-old charged in connection with the death of a Dutch Fork High School student who was stabbed outside a Lexington fast food restaurant in March.

Kierin Dennis' bond was set at $100,000 Thursday morning, according to his attorney, Todd Rutherford. Dennis was released from jail on Friday.

The rules of Dennis' bond stipulate that he cannot contact the victim's family and can only go to church, work, and Rutherford's office.

Da'Von Capers, 17, was stabbed in the parking lot of a Cook-Out restaurant after a basketball game between Dutch Fork and Lexington on Feb. 17. He later died at a local hospital.

Rutherford said Dennis felt threatened in the incident and engaged Capers in some sort of physical altercation.

"My client was in his car. He never got out of his car. Mr. Capers stuck his hand into my client's car and my client felt threatened and he felt like he had to defend himself," said Rutherford in a previous interview.

Ultimately, Rutherford has settled on using "Stand Your Ground" in defense of his client.
