Detectives are searching for two men wanted in connection with a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in Goldsboro.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Sal Court around 1:07 a.m. Sunday in reference to a burglary and shooting. When they arrived, the deputies located 33-year-old Derrick Matthews, who had died from a gunshot wound.

The sheriff's office said deputies believe that unknown subjects forced their way into the home, which was occupied by three people including Matthews.

The sheriff's office said one of witnesses inside the home at the time of the breaking and entering identified two black males as possible suspects. Further descriptions of the suspects were not provided.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Bob Golimowski at (919) 731-1401, Det. Sgt. Mike Kabler at (919) 731-1488 or Det. Ron Baker at (919) 705-1759 at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
