COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Attorney General Alan Wilson may have the authority to investigate House Speaker Bobby Harrell following Wednesday's state Supreme Court ruling, but he might not be able to finish the job.

The Supreme Court did not answer one of the bleeding questions of this case: Can Wilson be removed from the investigation?

That next move is up to Judge Casey Manning, who had already ruled against Wilson weeks ago and said it was up to the House Ethics Committee to investigate any potential ethics violations against the Speaker.

If Manning decides to remove Wilson, the case would then go to a circuit solicitor.

Coming up at the News at 6, we talk to former U.S. Attorney Pete Strom, who says the proceedings to determine whether Wilson remains on the case will likely be carried out behind closed doors.
