Rory "Busta" Anderson has been a vital part of Steve Spurrier's offense at South Carolina and his work hasn't gone unnoticed.

The 6-5, 227-pound senior tight end from Powder Springs, Ga., has been named to the 2014 John Mackey Award watch list.

Anderson started 13 games and played in 38 over the past three seasons. In those contests, he has hauled in 39 passes for 694 receiving yards with eight touchdowns.

The Mackey award has been won by Heath Miller (2004), Kellen Winslow II (2003, Dallas Clark (2002) and a host of other tight ends who have gone on to play in the National Football League.

The mid-season watch list for the Mackey Award will be released on October 13. The award semifinalists will be revealed on November 17 and the finalists will be announced on November 24. The winner of the Mackey Award will be presented on December 11 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.
