It was a surprise homecoming Thursday in Columbia after two years of being apart.

Sgt. First Class Carol Beauford's daughters and grandchildren thought they were filming a message for her at the Blue Marlin restaurant in the Vista but then she jumped in front of the camera and surprised them!

Beauford had been stationed in Korea since June 2012.

The 22 year vet was scheduled to arrive home in November but a chance to head back to the states early gave her the opportunity to surprise her "babies."

"I just love my children... They are my heartbeat," Beauford said. "I love my grandkids. You know when I tell people they are my babies, people say 'oh they're not babies'... They will always be my babies."

After being a world apart, Beauford fell right back into her true roles, being a mom and grandma.
