COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is requesting the community's help in finding a larceny suspect.

Authorities say the event took place on June 9 at a business on Decker Boulevard.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said that the victim, while at the counter, inadvertently left her iPhone 5C at the register. The device, according to the Department, is valued at $600.

The business was able to capture the suspect stealing the phone with their video surveillance equipment. The suspect, according to Lott, is described as a white female wearing a white tank top, black Capri pants with a medium build and long brunette hair.

Deputies are encouraging witnesses to come forward with any information they may have in identifying the suspect responsible. Tipsters could receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible.

To submit a tip, citizens are urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC (1-888274-6372).
