COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Do you believe that we will win? A couple of Midlands businesses are hoping for a Team USA victory over Germany in Thursday's FIFA World Cup match-up.

Since the World Cup began a couple of weeks ago, local businesses have been drawing in customers who want to watch USA take the field.

Several places around the Midlands have hosted parties, but one of the most popular places is the British Bulldog Pub in Irmo.

Last Sunday when the US took on Portugal, the pub hosted more than 600 people who wanted to watch. They also served more than 1,600 beers and 450 platters of fish and chips.

The locally owned business opened their doors three years ago and has anticipated the highly-watched world tournament, but had no idea they would have as big of a turnout. Christopher Fitz, one of the pub's managers, says they are expecting the same crowd during Thursday's noon game.

"I think a lot of people are going to be calling out of work and just trying to get here as best they can. We have had a lot of guys come and say, 'I'm on my lunch break,' and all of a sudden that turns into all day at the pub after the game," said Fitz. "It's a big game and we have a lot of German followers as well, so it's cool to get everyone together."

According to our social media inquiries, soccer fans will also be heading to the Cock N' Bull, Delaney's, Tin Roof, and Public House to catch the match.
