ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) -

Buncombe County officials say there is no public health risk after a band splattered pig's blood on stage as part of a heavy metal rock show.

Sue Ellen Morrison says there are no food safety issues at Lexington Avenue Brewery because the show was not close to the kitchen at the business.

Brewery employees contacted the health department after the Sunday night show featuring several bands.

Brewery co-owner Mike Healy said almost four dozen employees are out of work for several days while the cleanup continues.

The restaurant-brewery regularly offers music in the back listening room where the splatter happened.

Healy says he hopes to reopen Thursday, although it might be delayed until the weekend while everything is cleaned up.
