Boil water advisory in effect for zoo area community

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A boil water advisory has been issued by The City of Columbia Water Works for customers on Gracern Road, Candi Lane, Rivermont Drive and Wildlife Parkway.

Customers in and around that area are urged to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minutes before drinking or cooking. Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia has experienced a valve repair on a 24-foot water main which could result in bacterial contamination in the water in the areas previously described. Customers should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the City of Columbia Water Works.

Currently, The City of Columbia Water Works is working to resolve the issue.

If you have any questions regarding this advisory, please call The City of Columbia Customer Care Call Center at 803-545-3300.
