The Richland County Sheriff's Department has taken 34-year-old Bradgett Young into custody following a chase in Columbia.

According to Sgt. Curtis Wilson of the Richland County Sheriff's Department, deputies ran the tag on a vehicle on Humphrey Drive and found that it was stolen. When authorities attempted to pull the vehicle over, the suspect continued to drive and a chase ensued.

Wilson says the suspect made it to Hampton and Harden Streets before wrecking the vehicle on Pine Street. At that point, the man abandoned the vehicle and fled the area on foot.

Deputies found the suspect hiding in a building on Pine Street before arresting him.

Young has been charged with failure to stop for blue lights and siren as well as possession of a stolen vehicle according to Wilson.

However, Wilson also says that Young could face more charges from the South Carolina Highway Patrol for the accident.
