BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting in Ensley.

Police have charged 37-year-old Issac Carr, of Birmingham, with the murder of 40-year-old Michael Parker, also of Birmingham.

West Precinct officers responded to a shooting around 5:15 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Avenue D in Ensley.

When officers arrived, they found Parker on a front porch suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

"Detectives were informed that both the victim and suspect were engaging in some casual drug usage at the location when an argument ensued between both individuals," Lt. Sean Edwards with BPD said in a release.

Carr was taken into custody for questioning and later charged with murder. He is in custody of the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
