One charged with boating under the influence in fatal Lake Marion accident

The state Department of Natural Resources has charged a 43-year-old with one count of felony boating under the influence following the death of one person on Lake Marion on Saturday.

DNR says more charges could be coming for Robert Davis, the man charged in this case.

Department spokesman Capt. Robert McCullough said the boat crashed around 7:30 p.m. and three people were ejected from the boat.

One person, 50-year-old Bryant Boyce of Manning, died in the accident, according to the Orangeburg County Coroner's Office.

McCullough said alcohol will likely be a factor and follow up citations may be issued. 

The crash in still under investigation, McCullough said.
