HOUSTON, TX (KLTV) - With the help of two Houston Fire Department stations, and the Houston Police Department, a firefighter came up with a unique way to propose to his police officer girlfriend.

In the viral video, Houston firefighter Jesse Gonzalez, stages a fake fire in the community his police officer girlfriend, Olga Peck, covers.

Gonzalez says that HFD and HPD often work together on emergency calls, so with the help of the Houston Police Department, he requested her presence on the fire to assist with traffic control.

When she arrived, the garage door of the house opened. As smoke (from a smoke machine) flowed out of the garage, "Marry Me" by Bruno Mars started to play. Much to her surprise, her boyfriend walked out of the smoke, approached her, and got down on one knee.

She said yes.
