COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia Police have arrested a man wanted for firing into a crowd in the Vista on a busy weekend night two weeks ago.

Officers arrested Nicholas Maurice Dickerson,24, Wednesday morning at an apartment on Monticello Road. He was taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Dickerson is accused of firing a handgun into a crowd of people while at 1231 Lincoln Street in the early morning hours of June 1, said Jennifer Timmons with the Columbia Police Department.

Police said they believe this isolated incident stemmed from an altercation at a local business.

Dickerson is charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful carrying of a pistol and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Earlier this week, CPD released video of a man who was seen running along Lincoln Street and at the time he wore a dark, sleeveless shirt and sagging blue jeans. A few hours later, the same man is seen wearing a white T-shirt with the words "Baptist" on the back.

Police identified the man as Dickerson.

Investigators are still looking for anyone who was a part of the crowd.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
